All India Chess championship
The great day arrived. Doctors, nurses and
friends send Anand to the National chess championship with best wishes. Anand was
now on a stretcher since whole body was crippled. Only his right hand was
functional.
At the auditorium, Anand played chess with
all his competitors. Coach Raghuram kept advising him. Anand won all the games
showing great talent in chess. The whole world was watching the live telecast
of the championship. People admired watching Anand play while lying on a stretcher.
Anand was a great inspiration to all. He won the National championship.
Trophy function was arranged. Sports
minister came to give the trophy.
Chairman announced, “Anand has now been
selected to compete in the world championship to be held in Moscow after just 3
months.”
Rekha
and Vimal were proud of their son. For coach Raghuram, Anand was like his own
son. They all watched as Anand received the trophy with his only hand. Everyone
clap. Anand smiled while lying on the stretcher.
